Vintage Base Ball Played (and spelled) by the rules of the 1860s–this Sunday at Oatlands!

Vintage Base Ball Day at Oatlands

July 29, 2012
Gates open at noon, Game time is 1pm.
Entrance for the game is at Gap Road, just north of Oatlands’ main entrance.

Join Oatlands for a Vintage Base Ball game on Sunday, July 29. This family-friendly event will feature Mid Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League rivals, the Chesapeake Nine of Baltimore, Maryland and the Old Dominion Club of Virginia, who will play by the rules of the 1860s. The players’ bats and balls are authentic replicas of that time period. The game will be played without the use of gloves, helmets and catching gear, just as base ball was played (and spelled!) in the mid-19th century.
