Being outside at Oatlands today

I just came in from my little lunchtime walk.  It is so beautiful here today it took my breath away.  The air smells so clean and clear, with the sweet smell of new-mown fields.  The garden looks spectacular and if I could, I would spend the rest of my day wandering around its rooms.

We’re having such a wonderful break from the stagnant, beastly hot weather.  As I walked back to my office, I passed three moms in our picnic grove having lunch with all their children.  The children were running around playing hide and seek and having a wonderful time out in the pure air.  It made my heart glad to see them enjoying this place as much as we do.
